Quadratic Equations - Exercise 1

Fill in the missing justifications for the steps below where the equation  x2 + 3(x + 5) = 25 is solved with solutions
x = 2 and x = -5. Remember the Zero Product Law: If AB = 0, A=0 or B=0.

STATEMENT JUSTIFICATION
x2 + 3(x + 5) = 25

x2 + 3x + 15 = 25

x2 + 3x -10 = 0

(x + 5)(x - 2) = 0

x + 5 = 0  or  x - 2 = 0

x = -5  or  x = 2
